Mandell Menkes Represents Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press in High Profile Case

Mandell Menkes appeared on behalf of the Reporters Committee for Freedom of the Press in the prosecution of Jason Van Dyke. Mr. Van Dyke, a Chicago police officer, has been accused of first degree murder in the death of 17-year-old Laquan McDonald. After Mr. Van Dyke subpoenaed reporter Jamie Kalven, the Reporters Committee, represented by Brendan Healey of Mandell Menkes, filed an amicus brief in the case on the reporters privilege. Eighteen other media companies and groups joined the Reporters Committee as amici.
